Here we are in Florida. Impector Gadget is first with his rendition of Let's Get it On! Anne Marie Boscovich permormed twice for the judges as Simon wanted her to dress more appropriately. She is off to Hollywood as she was quite impressive.A 16 year old girl, Jasmine Murray also impressed the judges.T.K. Hash who was back to audition was put through despite some mistakes. Not a bad turnout. This week's episode had quite a few contestants sent off to Hollywood on a not very impressive note for the judges. It seemed that most people sent through did not please one judge or another. At the end, I guess they needed to fill their minimum quota of contestants :)

Was there a William Hung in the crowd? I thought a caught a glimpse of him. Huge crowds hoping to get a change to perform in front of the judges and get a golden ticket. Unfortunately, only 12 made it through. This audition had a couple of good singers, but nobody really impressed the judges. We'll see if any of them makes it through to the last 20. Comments?

Guess what? Another 27 people made it through. Good showing except for that Dennis Brigham guy who somehow made it through but unless his performance was not up to par because of nerves, he doesn't stand a chance.India and Asia performed and only the 'country-named' one made it!Worth mentioning, Asa Barnes and Lil Rounds impressed the judges and might be someones to watch.

American Idol Season 8 kicked off with a 10% drop in viewers. So sad, not! There was a high of 30.1 million viewers tuned in to watch the Phoenix auditions compared to 33.4 million in 2008 and 37 million the previous year. Having said that, it was the highest viewed show by far that night and at over 30 million the producers can't complaint, can they?

Phoenix - 10,000+ people lined up in the heat to audition for a chance to go to Hollywood. This year all contestants will have to impress another judge Kara DioGuardi. Will she eventually replace Paula? who knows?At the end of some good performances and some horrible ones, 27 tickets were handed out. Not bad at all and perhaps a few of the top 12 contestants will come out of this bunch. Perhaps,
